On this Easter Weekend 2021 two thoughts come to mind: 1) Space is still available for the three European battlefield tours being offered by Knee Deep Into History, LLC in September 2021, and 2) we continue to believe that travel to Europe will normalize by September.
Please consider joining us on one of these tours. We are offering a tour of the Ardennes Offensive (Battle of the Bulge) from 12-18 September, a tour of Flanders Fields and the Somme from 19 – 23 September, and a tour of the Meuse-Argonne and St. Mihiel from 25 September – 1 October. Generally, weather is still favorable in Northern Europe until early October. Details, terms and conditions and other important information can be found on our website: https://kneedeepintohistory.com.
We continue to believe that travel to Europe will normalize within the next few months, as vaccination rates improve on both sides of the Atlantic. As of April 3, 2021 the CDC reported that 54.4 million Americans (16.4% of the population) have received their second vaccination and 101.8 million (30.7%) their first dose. It is widely believed that all Americans who choose to get vaccinated will be able to do so by early July. The CDC also reported on 2 April that full-vaccinated individuals can safely travel at “low risk.” Europe is currently the weak link; with just 4% fully vaccinated and about 10% receiving at least one vaccine dose according to the WHO’s European director. Nevertheless, we expect European vaccination rates to ramp up significantly by mid-Summer as governments face strong pressure to speed up the process.
